Frequently asked questions
What is your approach to boarding and training?
Safety comes first. New dogs are introduced to the group slowly, dogs are crated when no one is home and overnight, and no dog is ever left outside unattended. In very hot or cold weather, outdoor time is kept short and dogs relax in our finished, dog-ready basement.
What kind of training do you do?
Balanced training. We teach dogs what is right and what is wrong, rather than only distracting them from bad behavior. Before any training starts, we walk you through the tools we use so you are comfortable with them.
Can I tour your home, or meet before boarding?
Because we board in our own home, we don't offer tours. We're happy to talk on the phone, and you can see photos here and on our Facebook page. With our years of experience, a meeting beforehand isn't needed.
How do drop-off and pick-up work?
By appointment only, in two windows: 7:00 – 8:45 AM and 3:00 – 5:00 PM.
Please text when you are on your way and again when you arrive. Please don't ring the doorbell or come to the door.
What should I bring?
Your dog's leash, enough food for every meal, and any allergy-safe treats. We provide crates (including high-anxiety crates), beds, bedding, toys and bowls. Please leave favorite toys and blankets at home.
What does a typical day look like?
The day starts early with outdoor exercise and breakfast. Dogs go out several times throughout the day. Dog-friendly guests play together; others get their own outdoor time and individual attention at least three times a day.
Which vaccines are required?
A current rabies vaccine is required for every dog. Distemper (combination) and Bordetella vaccines are strongly recommended. You will sign our vaccine waiver and boarding agreement online when you create your account.
Do you offer dog walking?
Yes, for select clients, and daily walks can be added to any boarding stay. Ask us when you book.
